Warriors All-Star Defenseman Set to Join Corsairs this Fall HAVERHILL, MA -- Timothy Kippenberger, a defenseman for the Valley Jr Warriors, has committed to UMass Dartmouth (UMD) for the fall of 2021. The '01 native of Wilmington, MA recently finished his first and only season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), and in 38 total games, Kippenberger notched 15 points to his credit."Tim has elite level skating and shooting ability," said Warriors head coach and general manager Ryan McGrath. “Tim excelled in all situations for us this season and I fully expect he’ll do the same for Coach Noack at UMD."With Kippenberger's commitment, the EHL sees its streak reach a perfect eight for eight, as the league has helped at least one player per season advance to UMD since its inception back in 2013. Overall, Kippenberger is the 32nd player in league history to choose the Corsairs' hockey program, and despite still having one year left of junior hockey eligibility, he's ready to make the jump this fall.Prior to joining the Warriors, Kippenberger spent four years at Cushing Academy (USHS-Prep) in Ashburnham, MA. Warriors Forward Set to Join Leopards this Fall HAVERHILL, MA -- William O'Brien, a forward for the Valley Jr Warriors, has committed to the Wentworth Institute of Technology for the fall of 2021. The '01 native of Stoneham, MA recently finished his first and only season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), tallying 13 total points along the way. It's also worth pointing out that O'Brien played in all 40 games that the Warriors hit the ice for this past year."Willie is one of the most competitive players that I have coached in some time," said Warriors head coach and general manager Ryan McGrath. "He is typically the first guy at the rink each morning, and was one of a handful of players who went upstairs to the gym everyday regardless of if the team had a scheduled lift or not. We couldn’t be happier for him, his goal from day #1 was to put himself in a position to be recruited by Wentworth. He had a few other schools show sincere interest, but Wentworth was his #1 choice all along.”Wentworth has always been a strong recruiter of the EHL, as O'Brien goes in the books as the 22nd player in league history to choose the Leopards hockey program.Focusing in on just this season in particular and O'Brien is part of a three-player class that also includes Mitch McGinn from the New Hampshire Avalanche and George Weiner from the New Jersey 87's.Learn more about the Warriors on the team's official website, and check out the full 2020-21 NCAA commitment list. ...

Oppenheimer Commits to Post University
February 14, 2021
Warriors All-Star Forward Set to Join Eagles this Fall HAVERHILL, MA -- Gehrig Oppenheimer, a forward for the Valley Jr Warriors, has committed to Post University for the fall of 2021. The 2000-born native of Wesley Chapel, FL came to the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) following a pair of prep hockey seasons at The Winchendon School. In 30 total EHL games to date this season, Oppenheimer has notched 11 points to his name."Gehrig has been a pleasure to coach thus far," said Warriors head coach and general manager Ryan McGrath. "He competes with 110-percent each day and I would be hard pressed to find a player that is in better physical shape than he is. Oppie plays in all situations for us and is one of the best penalty killers in the league."Oppenheimer will be joined by Drew Blodgett when he arrives at Post this fall, as his Warriors' teammate recently made the same commitment. While Oppenheimer, Blodgett, and the Warriors currently occupy 7th place in the Central Division, they should enter the postseason with confidence knowing that they are the only team in the league with wins over at least three teams currently ranked in the Nexlevel Power Rankings. No other program has done what the Warriors have this season, and that's earn victories over the Walpole Express, the Boston Jr Rangers, and the New Hampshire Avalanche. With five games left in the regular season, the EHL All-Star forward will look to help guide his team down the final stretch and into the postseason.Learn more about the Warriors on the team's official website, and check out the full 2020-21 NCAA commitment list....
Blodgett Commits to Post University
February 12, 2021
Warriors Goaltender Climbs #EShow Ladder of Development HAVERHILL, MA -- Drew Blodgett, a goaltender for the Valley Jr Warriors, has committed to Post University for the fall of 2021. The '01 native of Lowell, MA is in his 2nd season with the Warriors, and first full year at the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) level. Outside of a pair of a EHL starts last season, Blodgett spent the majority of the year developing at the Eastern Hockey League Premier (EHLP) level. However, the entire 2020-21 campaign has featured Blodgett as one of the lead netminders on the top team in the Warriors program.“Drew represents the ladder of development that we strive for here at Valley," said Warriors head coach and general manager Ryan McGrath. "He has worked so hard to advance to the NCAA ranks. He will be one of only a handful of 2001-born goalies that will commit to a school for the fall of 2021."To McGrath's point, Blodgett is one of just two '01 EHL goalies that have committed so far this season. Outside of Blodgett and Eric Buchholz of the Walpole Express, all seven other goaltenders that have committed so far this season in the EHL are all 2000-born netminders. Also, as McGrath point out, Blodgett is a prime example of a player who worked his way up the ladder of development. Blodgett's ladder also goes a step further, as his time with the Warriors organization began with the program's 18U AAA team during the 2018-19 season. From there, it was a year spent in the EHLP, plus a season in the EHL, and now onto college hockey.Blodgett and his teammate Gehrig Oppenheimer are the first two EHL players to commit to Post this season, and the 16th and 17th respective players in league history to choose the Eagles.Learn more about the Warriors on the team's official website, and check out the full 2020-21 NCAA commitment list....

The 2000-born native of Andover, MA spent last season with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) in the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10). When the NE-10 was unable to start on time, Biddle made the decision to come play juniors in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), and keep developing as a player."Joe has done a tremendous job for us this year, and despite being a defenseman, he has led our offensive attack all season long," said Warriors head coach and general manager Ryan McGrath. To McGrath's point, Biddle's 20 total points leads the way on the Warriors' scoring chart, with eight goals and 12 assists in 19 total games.Looking forward, Biddle is one of three current EHL players that will be heading to Skidmore this fall. Max O'Brien Commits to Colby College
February 03, 2021
Warriors Defenseman Set to Join Mules this Fall HAVERHILL, MA -- Max O'Brien, a defenseman for the Valley Jr Warriors, has committed to Colby College for the fall of 2021. The 2000-born native of Milton, MA is in his first and only season in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), following a pair of seasons as the Berkshire School in Sheffield, MA. To date this year, O'Brien has tallied 10 total points in 30 EHL games."Max is the most determined young man I have ever coached," said Warriors head coach and general manager Ryan McGrath. "When you consider he only has 4 PIMs and averages 25 mins of ice time per game, you can begin to understand just how good of a skater he is, and how much he pay’s attention to his defensive positioning."As McGrath mentioned, O'Brien has only amassed four total PIMs throughout the entire season, which is impressive with how much ice time he gets for his team. The Assistant Captain has proven himself to be reliable in all three zones of the ice, as well as in all situations for Valley. Overall, O'Brien is glad he chose the Warriors for his age-out season of junior hockey, as it helped lead to this moment. With his commitment, O'Brien becomes the 6th player in league history to choose Colby College, and the 3rd player to do so this season. When O'Brien arrives on campus this fall, he'll be joined by Derek Hessinger of the Railers Jr Hockey Club and Connor Blanchard of the East Coast Wizards.Learn more about the Warriors on the team's official website, and check out the full 2020-21 NCAA commitment list....
